Merebrook were invited to act as independent safety advisors for Foundation Developments Limited (FDL) during the construction of both the BMX Track and Velodrome located at the London Olympic Park.

Merebrook conducted safety inspections twice a week to assess the construction work that was taking place as well as how the safety management system was being administered. FDL were completing major construction, including ground works and drainage works for the BMX Track and a reinforced concrete structure for the Velodrome, Merebrook's input was paramount in assuring all health and safety regulations and FDL policies were meet.

The partnership did not stop there, Merebrook also assisted in the forward planning for specific tasks ensuring that no hazardous activity was undertaken and that risk assessments were task specific.

By working alongside the safety manager and project team Merebrook were able to meet all project goals and ensure a successful completion while adhering to the rules of health and safety in industry.
