Background

The Pall-Aquasafe Water Filter for up to 14 day use (AQ14F1S) provides sterile grade filtered water for topical use and patient consumption. The 0.2 µm membrane protects against waterborne particulate and microbial contamination, including pathogens such as Legionella spp., Pseudomonas spp. and fungal spores.

These pathogens are common contaminants of hospital water supplies and can lead to nosocomial infections. To minimise the risk of inadvertent cross-contamination and retrograde contamination, the filter housing material utilises silver technology as an enhanced, non-leaching bacteriostatic additive.
