The Gulf Stream is a fast-paced and warm current in the Atlantic Ocean beginning in the Gulf of Mexico and travelling up the USA’s eastern coasts prior to moving across the Atlantic Ocean. The Gulf Stream’s warming influence impacts on parts of the US and of Europe, and present scientific research is assessing ways that its vast energy potential could be drawn upon as a renewable energy resource.
