Glossary - Herbicide

A herbicide is a generic name for a type of chemical that acts to halt the development of a plant, or to kill it entirely. Herbicides generally fall into two categories – selective (which suppress the growth of particular plants) and non-selective (which nullify all plants targeted, and which farmers might use during crop rotation).
