Glossary - Photovoltaic

Photovoltaic is a combination of the words ‘photo’ (light) and ‘voltaic’ (electricity) – and it refers to a particular technology where solar energy is transformed into electricity. Another term for photovoltaic technology is ‘solarelectric’.
