Glossary - Scrubbers
Scrubbers are predominantly devices employed against air pollution that spray liquid, typically water, in order to lessen or eliminate it. Other types of scrubbers exist too: dry scrubbers work by injecting slurry into an exhaust flow as a means of removing acid gases, while mechanically aided scrubbers are basically liquid-spraying (i.e. ‘wet’) scrubbers with the addition of a motor.
