Electric Valve Actuators: IQ Intelligent

Rotork’s flagship IQ intelligent electric actuator features legendary innovations including Rotork’s unique double sealing system and ‘non-intrusive’ infra-red commissioning, together with data logging and predictive maintenance capabilities by means of IQ-Insight software.

IQ functionality and reliability is available for industrial valves of virtually every size and description – multi-turn, quarter-turn, isolating and modulating.  The IP68 watertight and temporarily submersible enclosure is available with ATEX certification for hazardous locations and approved for SIL (Safety Integrity Level) 2 and 3 applications.  Control options include ‘bumpless’ Profibus connectivity, Foundation Fieldbus, Modbus, DeviceNet and Rotork Pakscan 2-wire dedicated actuator control systems.

Process Control Actuators

Rotork Process Controls specialises in the design, production and support of process control actuators.  We are committed to providing the marketplace with the latest technology, consistently high quality, innovative designs, outstanding reliability and superior performance.

The Process Controls group is able to meet the specialised control needs of our customers in all areas and for all applications. Our actuators are used in chemical, power, municipal water and waste water plants as well as on oil and gas upstream and downstream applications.
 
The CVA and GPSA actuator ranges apply state of the art electrical and mechanical technologies to the ‘smart’ operation of linear and rotary control valves demanding continuous, repeatable modulation, with a programmable fail to position option. The range demonstrates unrivalled control valve automation, combined with advanced, non-intrusive calibration and valve diagnostic technologies.

Pneumatic and Hydraulic Valve Actuators

The Rotork Fluid Systems Division designs and manufactures pneumatic, hydraulic, gas-over-oil, high pressure gas and electro-hydraulic valve actuators.  In the water and waste treatment industries these actuators are often used when, for example, failsafe or emergency shutdown (ESD) functions cannot be easily provided by electric actuators.  Applications include pipelines, flood prevention equipment, fast acting operation (steam turbine protection) and pressure regulation.

In common with Rotork electric actuators, fluid power actuators are available with serial control networks including Profibus, Foundation Fieldbus and Rotork Pakscan to greatly reduce the installed cost and maintain control system compatibility throughout large or extended facilities.

Valve Gearboxes and Accessories

Rotork Gears manufactures multi-turn and quarter-turn gearboxes for either the manual operation of valves and penstocks or for use as secondary gearboxes with electric and fluid power actuators.

In addition the Division manufactures and supplies a full range of valve accessories encompassing mounting kits, switchboxes, positioners, solenoids, spools, pedestals, extension spindles, chainwheels and handwheels, completing Rotork’s offering as a “one stop shop” for valve actuation and control equipment for contracts of all sizes and complexity.

Rotork Site Services

Rotork Site Services Division offers expertise for the design, installation and commissioning of retrofitted actuators and control systems for plant upgrades and extensions, as well as site surveys, actuator audits, maintenance, repair and advice on valve actuation equipment from any manufacturer.

Site Services extend Rotork’s customer commitment beyond the initial supply of new equipment to cover the entire life of the plant, removing this responsibility from the plant owners and enabling them to concentrate on their mainstream businesses.  The success of this policy is witnessed by Rotork’s selection as the preferred framework partner for valve actuation in the UK water industry and in similar partnerships throughout the world.
